Sept. 18, 2010 Judy and Steve had a party for Steve's father who came down from New York. Steve surprised him with a Model T car! The kids thought it was awesome and Steve gave everyone rides. We had a fabulous time.
Hudson in his true form!

Macey kickin' it in the hot pink leggings!

Apple Picking

On Columbus Day I took the kids (Macey, her friend, Claire and Fletcher) to Pei Wei for lunch and then out to Crooked Run Orchard to pick apples. We had a fabulous time as the weather was perfect and the apples--delicious! And what do you know??? Fletcher lost his first tooth! (Well, not counting the one he lost when he was 18 mos old.)

Halloween 2010

Bailey (pajama girl) and her good friend Chloe (zombie) and all their candy!
Dad, the doctor. Macey the princess and Fletcher wouldn't let us take his picture, but he was Darth Vadar. Even though we bought the cutest knight costume EVER because he said he wanted it "more than anything" and that he "would do anything I asked!" Then he went to Adam's house and they were at Target and found Darth Vader, so somehow he got Adam's mom to buy it for him!
For family home evening Monday night, we carved pumpkins. And roasted pumpkin seeds! Yum!
I went to a Witches Party a few days before Halloween. Luckily I won "Best Dressed Witch!"

Bailey the Model!

Bailey had an exciting opportunity to participate in Loudoun Youth's Rock the Runway. They showcased several local businesses with a fashion show. There were different catagories. Bailey modeled for Sportswear (black jacket, yellow scarf), Accessories (purse, black t-shirt), Fashion on a Budget (blue dress, cheetah jacket) and then Express Yourself, where she got to choose an outfit from her closet that best expressed who she was. So of course she chose her soccer uniform! It was a fun experience for her. They did her hair and makeup before each show and she just loved that part! Hudson was suppose to do it, but he chickened out!

NYC!!!

This is Fletcher, not so happy when he found out he could not ride the ferris wheel :(
*Click on the pictures to see better!*

M&M store--super crowded...we lost Hudson (he was outside buying a fake Rolex from a guy on the street!)

Middle of Times Square!

Our hotel is the black and gold tall building on the left. Not sure if that is the Empire State Bldg on right.
Chillin in the hotel.

For our Spring Break we decided to take the kids to NYC for a couple of days. We had a fantastic time. We left at 6am Friday morning and arrived in NYC at 12:30pm. (We stopped for a long breakfast.) We checked into the Bryant Park Hotel and then went out to see the sights! Right across the street was Bryant Park. It had a carousel and big grassy area, restaurants and lots of park benches. We were only a few blocks away from Times Square, so that's where we headed first. The kids were really excited to see Toys R Us with the ferris wheel inside it. They also have a life-size Barbie house, and just so much it is hard to believe!!! We were all ready for lunch so we went and ate at ESPNZone. Then Bailey and I went and got in a VERY long line for Broadway show tickets. It took us about an hour, and we ended up with tickets to see "The Fantasticks!" at 8pm. Just the girls went and we really loved it. It was a small theater so we were very close. The music was wonderful and the story was cute and silly. The girls even met the main actors afterwards and got their autograph! While the girls were at the show, Hudson's uncle picked him up and took him around town, then he stayed with them at their apartment.
We met up with the uncle and his girlfriend the next day and they took us shopping in SoHo. The girlfriend works for Diesel, so we went to one of their stores--55DSL. She gets an amazing discount, so Hudson got some awesome t-shirts. Then we went to their apartment. It was fun, and the kids loved seeing it. I think seeing the Uncle and girlfriend was the highlight of their trip. (It has been such a long time since they've seen him.) We left NYC at 6pm on Saturday and pulled up to our house at 10:45pm. Oh--and the weather was beautiful!!!

Halloweeny

Happy Halloweeny Family! So here's what we ended up with... We had Trunk or Treat at church on Friday, and the kids dressed as one thing, then Saturday for Halloween they dressed as another! Who wants to be the same thing two nights in a row??? These are yard sale finds which I love!
Our Saturday started out great with Bailey's soccer game. They didn't win, but they played really good, with Bailey as goalie for half the game. Then we came home, cleaned up the house and then tackled all our leaves, and our neighbors as well. Andrew and I made a big pot of chili--that's what you see him doing. Bailey went to a party at her friends' house and they went trick-or-treating together. Macey had her good friend Kara over, and Hudson went with his buddy Sam. The weather was beautiful and we had a fun day. Came home and watched Halloween H20 for a bit of a scare (just Andrew and I).

Spring Break--DC

As soon as the weather got a bit warmer, like you know 55 degrees, we headed downtown to see the cherry blossoms at the Jefferson Memorial. It was pretty windy, as you can see, but we found a good parking space and walked right to the Roosevelt Memorial, which is along the Tidal Basin, then headed across to the Smithsonian to look at the Geology specimens. Then we headed back around the Tidal Basin to see the Jefferson Memorial. We all had a good time, and if it weren't for Hudson teasing Macey relentlessly the whole time, and then Hudson going off on his own at the Smithsonian with about 10 billion other people, oh, and Macey loosing her purse, it would have been almost perfect! Ha!
